FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Nashville, TN) --Mansion Entertainment has announced a sales and distribution deal with Hall of Fame artist, Larnelle Harris. The first project under the new agreement will be the re-release of one of Harris' most successful recordings, a live project with the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir that was honored with the Dove Award (gospel's Grammy equivalent) for Inspirational Album of the Year in 1992. Having been out of print for several years, the re-release will feature new packaging and be re-titled, Larnelle: Live in Brooklyn with the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.
Mansion Entertainment President Bill Traylor says plans also include a new CD as well as a 13-week television series featuring Larnelle as both host and performer. "I had the opportunity to work with Larnelle in years past during the days of his rapid growth as an artist," says Traylor. "We worked together when Larnelle was a member of The Gaither Vocal Band and, of course, during his amazing duets with Sandi Patty. I came to understand Larnelle's commitment to God, his family, and his art and I am grateful for the opportunity to, once again, work with such a gifted communicator."
Admired by peers and fans alike in a career that spans over three decades, Harris has been honored with five Grammy and eleven Dove Awards, including being named Male Vocalist of the Year three times by the Gospel Music Association. Additionally, Harris has garnered nineteen # 1 national radio singles and countless top 10 hits. Songs such as "How Excellent Is Thy Name," "I Miss My Time With You," "I've Just Seen Jesus," plus many others, including his signature song, "Amen," are now considered modern classics.
From the White House to the 38th Parallel, Larnelle has impacted audiences across the globe with his music. He was the first Christian artist to perform inside the Kremlin after the fall of the Soviet Union. He is one of a handful of celebrities to receive the Ad Council's Silver Bell Award for Distinguished Public Service in recognition of his song "Mighty Spirit" as the theme song for the longest-running Public Service Announcement in television history.
Married to wife Cynthia (a.k.a. Mitzy) for over 35 years, Larnelle has successfully combined the demanding lifestyle of a global musician with being a husband and father of two grown children. Still a sought-after vocalist for special events and ceremonies, Larnelle also continues to perform solo concerts for churches and other organizations worldwide each year. Harris has appeared on several national television shows and networks including Gaither Homecoming Specials, Live With Regis & Kathie Lee; Life Today With James Robison; CNN; Music City Tonight with Crook & Chase; The 700 Club; Good Morning South Africa; Billy Graham Crusades; Hour Of Power; and Larnelle Christmas Special, among others.
